The Draft
Draft Location & Time
The draft will be held at Alex's house. Date: August 27, 2010 Time: 4:30 PM
The Draft
The draft is probably the single MOST important event of the entire Fantasy Football year. This is when all the team owners gather together to draft their FFL team(s). Your attendance at this draft is mandatory (unless there is death in the family or other natural disaster). This event will take between 2 and 3 hours. Please have your lists ready, it will make the entire process more enjoyable. Please bring a checklist of teams/players. There will be a draft board to help keep track of who has drafted who. It is also suggested that you keep track of everyones' teams on your own as well.
Draft Order
Draft Order is determined by a random drawing. Below is an example of how the draft works. Each person will have a chance to draft first in a round multiple times; I feel this is the best and most fair way of doing the draft.
Example Draft Order
Round 1 - 1, 2, 3, 4
Round 2 - 2, 3, 4, 1
Round 3 - 3, 4, 1, 2
Round 4 - 4, 1, 2, 3
Round 5 - 1, 2, 3, 4
*Actual draft will be 21 rounds
Team Roster
Here is the breakdown of the fantasy team structure for our league. The maximum position is only for use when a player is on Inactive Reserve. You can never have any more than the drafted number on your Active Roster.
| Position Quarterback (QB) Running Back (RB) Wide Receiver (WR) Tight-End (TE) Kicker (K) Defensive Team (DT) TOTALS | Drafted 3 5 6 3 2 2 21 | Maximum 4 6 7 4 3 3 23 | Totals 12 20 24 12 8 8 84 |
Inactive Reserve (IR)
Up to 2 players can be placed on your Inactive Reserve (IR) roster, regardless of their actual health. Placing players on IR will allow you to keep them and free up your active roster for additional players. You can swap players from reserve to active without any penalties or fees. These changes must be made prior to the kickoff of the first game of the next week.
Points scored by players on your IR are not added to your Weekly or Season points totals. You cannot have two players of the same position of the IR.
Players can be directly drafted to the IR as long as you have an opening and no other players of the same position are there already. All other rules to drafting players apply when adding directly to your IR.
Starting Lineups
| Starting weekly line-ups MUST be received no later than the kickoff of the first NFL game of the next week. Failure to submit a lineup by this time will result in your starting team being the same as it was last week. PLEASE HAVE YOUR LINEUPS IN ON TIME, THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS! | The Starting Weekly lineup is as follows: 1 Quarterback 2 Running Backs 3 Wide Receivers 1 Tight-End 1 Defensive Team 1 Kicker 1 Head Coach |
How to Turn In Your Weekly Lineup:
1. E-mail Alex (alexsmith0913@gmail.com)
2. Call Alex (415-1594)
3. Drop lineup off to Alex.
4. Get a very smart pigeon.
Player Drafting Information
In order to keep the game fair and give ALL team owners equal opportunity at available players, we will use the following rules for drafting players.
OPEN DRAFT: Wednesday (6:00 PM) until start of the first game of that week.
During this time ANY available non-drafted player can be added to your roster. Of course your active roster can never exceed the limits outline in the Fantasy Football Teams Section. The OPEN DRAFT is on a first come first serve basis.
CLOSED DRAFT: From start of first game of week until following Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
During this time NO players can be immediately acquired. This eliminates the unfair possibility of a commissioner or friend of the commissioner from grabbing players during game time while others would not have the same opportunity. You CAN however notify the commissioner before Wed at 6:00PM and "Lay Claim" to an available player. At 6:00PM on Wednesday, either a random drawing is held or if no other team owner wants the player(s) it becomes yours is added to your roster.
Adding Non-Drafted Players to your Roster
There is a $___ fee for adding players to your roster. This fee goes to a year-end pool that is divided by the two teams with the highest year-end points total. Their is no limit to the number of players you can add or drop during the season EXCEPT for the last 4 weeks of the season, during which time, NO traders or roster additions are allowed.
Rosters can never exceed the limits established. Players can be added to your Inactive Reserve (if applicable) or your regular roster (as long as you have an opening or you can drop a player of the same position to make room).
You must notify the commissioner of your changes for them to be final.
Dropping Players from Your Roster
Players can be dropped from your team at any time. Dropped players ARE NOT immediately available for draft by another team. A list of all dropped players is included in each weekly report. A dropped player is not available for open draft until all teams have been notified of this available player.
A dropped player IS NOT available for OPEN DRAFT until kickoff of the first game of the next week. This gives all team owners an opportunity to see which players are available. You may "Lay Claim" to these players and if no one else does the same then they become yours at the kickoff of the first game of the next week.
Making Trades
Trades between team owners can be made anytime except the last four weeks of the season. There is no fee for trading, and their is no limit to the number of trades that a team owner can make in a season.
Keep in mind that if you are trading two unlike positions that you can never exceed the player limits. Often times a player must be dropped or two players must be traded in order to keep with the Fantasy Team Roster limits.
